What to use on hardwood floors to make them shine?
Glossy wood floors look newer than matte flooring and have a reflective quality than some homeowners. Contribute various types of hardwood floor gloss products including flooring, fountain cleaning, and floor polishes. Pay attention to the flooring product labels to make sure they work with the type of finish you have because the wrong types of products can damage hardwood floors.
Surface finishes
Surface finishes come in different amounts of gloss, ranging from matte to high gloss. When choosing a floor finish, know that surface finishes usually produce more shine than penetrating finishes. However, floor owners can use a penetrating finish and then wax and buff to create a shine. Choose a gloss or shine for more shine and a satin finish for a little shine. Extension experts from Michigan State University recommend a polyurethane modified oil finish for ease of use. Surface use bare wood finishes; they generally do not work on other finishes or stains.
Cleaning products
Keep a floor as shiny as possible by steam cleaning hardwood floor regularly. Sweep frequently and use rugs in front of exterior doors to keep dirt people from tracking in your shoes. Also use cleaners that work for the specific type of floor by checking the manufacturer's labels. Using the wrong type of cleaner for a floor finish can damage the finish and leave the floor less shiny. After cleaning the floor, dry the floor to prevent water from soaking in and damaging the wood.
Floor wax
Polished flooring products help gloss hardwood floors, though flooring owners should use the correct type of polish for the specific floor type and finish type. Water-based floor polishing is best for plants that can tolerate water. Some sealed and surface finish of floors are waterproof. However, almost all types of wood flooring do better without water, homeowners may want to use a safety solvent floor wax. To shine a floor while removing shoe marks or other marks, Polish the floor with a floor polishing wax. Most waxes and floor polishes require a few polishes to look shiny. Self polishing floor polishes, however, look shiny immediately after it dries.
Floor buffer
Electric floor burnishing or polishing and polishing cloths help shine wood floors after a new coat of floor wax or polish flooring. New layers of wax can be slippery without a good polish.
